BakPak Pals

Hunger is one of the major obstacles faced by students in Robeson County. 34% of children in Robeson County experience food insecurity, meaning that their “consistent access to adequate food is limited by a lack of money and other resources at times during the year.” CIS helps students overcome this obstacle by providing BakPak Pals. BakPak Pals provides weekend food bags to be sent home with students. Students also receive special holiday packs of food. Funding is provided by the communities of Red Springs, Pembroke, Prospect, Lumberton, and United Way. During the 2021-2022 school year, we provided BakPaks to 1,000+ students in Robeson County. We need your help to continue providing this much-needed support. A one-year sponsorship totals $125. Please consider donating the full amount or $10 a month to provide food bags for a student for the entire school year!
